PROFILE

I am an experienced professional seeking admission to graduate school and a career as a Christian counselor for families, women, and children. My background includes working with adults and children with disabilities as a tutor, educational coach, and advocate. I have also worked in private and public schools as a volunteer and paid employee for special needs children, providing respite care, developing appropriate educational programs, and coordinating services. As the Executive Director of the Greater Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, I spent many hours in the community working with other organizations and agencies as a volunteer serving on Boards and lending my services and expertise wherever possible. One of the projects I am most proud of was playing an instrumental role in developing The Neutral Zone, a youth-oriented place offering a fun and safe environment for teenagers to meet with friends, meet new people, and learn new things. It is a place to call their own during high-risk hours. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I am highly motivated, goal-oriented, self directed and detailed oriented; I am also skilled in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and Word Perfect.
